At Caroline & Aschaber LLP, we are a purpose driven firm, committed to providing tailored, high-value tax solutions to entrepreneurs and business owners. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled Tax Manager to join our team. This is an opportunity to lead complex tax engagements, develop deep client relationships, and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative, client-focused environment.

You’ll excel in this role if…

You’re a proactive, detail-oriented tax professional who values both autonomy and partnership. You thrive in an environment where initiative and collaborative problem-solving are recognized, and you are motivated by both technical challenges and meaningful client relationships.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the delivery of key tax engagements including corporate reorganizations, intergenerational business transitions, estate planning, and buy/sell transaction support.

  • Provide trusted advice to business owners and clients, translating complex tax matters into clear, practical recommendations.

  • Manage workflow, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables and proactively identifying/resolving project obstacles.

  • Mentor and review the work of junior team members, fostering skill development and knowledge-sharing across the team.

  • Act as a primary liaison with external advisors such as legal and wealth management professionals.

  • Represent the firm with professionalism and integrity.

  • Contribute to business development by identifying new client opportunities and expanding your professional network within the legal, financial, and business communities.

Expertise and Qualifications:

  • CPA designation and 4–7 years of tax experience in public accounting (preferably with a focus on Canadian private clients).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; enrolment in or completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course is an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience with corporate reorganizations (including Section 55 and safe income calculations), estate planning, and tax advisory for owner-managed businesses.

  • Proficient in CCH iFirm, CaseWare, tax research platforms (Taxnet Pro, BlueJ, Canadian Tax Foundation), and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both client and professional interactions.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative approach; strong project management skills with a commitment to professional excellence.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $90,000–$140,000 based on skills and experience.

  • Annual discretionary bonus (based on individual and firm performance).

  • Hybrid work model with the expectation of 3–4 in-office days per month for meetings, training, and firm events.

  • Four weeks paid vacation annually and comprehensive health and dental benefits.

  • Access to wellness and mental health supports.

  • Ongoing professional development through mentorship, quarterly feedback, training, and opportunities to attend tax conferences.

  • A genuinely collaborative culture focused on professional growth, teamwork, and delivering value to clients.

Application Process:

Please submit your application to Caroline & Aschaber LLP via email: info@kcrallp.ca with “Tax Manager” as the subject line.
