As a Senior Tax Accountant, you’re at the center of our client work, turning complex tax challenges into clear, actionable outcomes and making a direct impact for entrepreneurs, business owners, and families alike. You help clients make confident decisions as they navigate their some of their most important business transitions.

You’re a proactive tax professional who loves working through detailed technical matters, enjoys translating tax legislation into real-world solutions, and values partnership and collaboration - both within your team and in client relationships. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Prepare, review, and manage complex tax engagement files across corporate reorganizations, intergenerational business transitions, buy/sell transactions, estate plans, and advisory projects. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Tax Manager and Tax Partner, ensuring every client receives clear, timely, and practical advice. 

  • Build trust with clients through proactive communication and reliable follow-up. 

  • Manage workflow, maintain technical accuracy, and support process improvements that keeps our firm moving forward. 

  • Contribute to our team by sharing knowledge, participating in training, and helping to maintain a positive, collaborative culture. 

Expertise and Qualifications: 

  • CPA designation and 3–5 years of progressive tax experience in public practice. 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; CPA In-Depth Tax Course enrollment (or interest) is an asset. 

  • Exposure to corporate reorganizations, estate planning, and tax advisory work. 

  • Familiarity with CCH iFirm, CaseWare, tax research databases (Taxnet Pro, BlueJ, Canadian Tax Foundation), and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both client and professional interactions. 

  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative approach; strong project management skills with a commitment to professional excellence. 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Salary range: $80,000–$110,000 depending on experience and qualifications 

  • Annual discretionary bonus (based on individual and firm performance). 

  • Hybrid work model: must be within driving distance of Collingwood; expected in-office 3–4 days per month
