Purpose of the Role
As the Staff Accountant, Tax at Caroline & Aschaber LLP, you play a pivotal role in executing key tax engagements, directly supporting the Senior Tax Accountant and Tax Partner and collaborating with the broader team. Your expertise and desire to learn transforms complex tax matters into clear, actionable outcomes for clients. Key Accountabilities
Driving tax engagement delivery by:
Preparing complex tax consulting files, compliance documents, and research memos for
engagements including corporate reorganizations, business transitions, and estate plans
Preparing day-to-day workflow and timelines for assigned projects, ensuring files stay
on track and deadlines are met
Maintaining meticulous attention to technical accuracy in all internal and external
deliverables
Serving as a trusted resource for clients and the internal team by:
Building relationships with clients through clear, timely, and proactive communication
Collaborating with the Senior Tax Accountant and Tax Partner and handling direct
correspondence with clients, CRA representatives, and external advisors
Translating tax guidance into practical steps for clients and consistently following up to
resolve outstanding matters
Promoting internal growth and reputation by:
Participating in internal training and contributing to knowledge-sharing across the firm
Staying current on developments in tax legislation and identifying process or planning
improvement opportunities
Promoting internal growth and reputation by:
Identifying additional needs within the client base and providing insights to expand tax
service offerings
Contributing to the preparation of presentations and marketing materials for clients and
referral sources
Required Skills and Expertise
CPA student with 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or similar role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Proficient with CCH iFirm, CaseWare, tax research databases (Taxnet Pro, BlueJ, Canadian Tax Foundation), and the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills with both clients and professionals

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range of $55,000–$75,000 based on experience and qualifications
Annual discretionary bonus (structure and weighting aligned with firmwide practices)
Full-time, hybrid work setup (within driving distance of Collingwood; expected in-office
presence 3-4 days per month for meetings, training, and firm events)
